       FISHERY RULES

      THE HEALTH OF OUR FISH IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO US, PLEASE TREAT THEM GENTLY

  • All anglers must purchase/have bought a ticket to fish the lakes

  • All anglers must have a valid Environmental Agency Rod License to fish the lakes

  • Adults only, except by special arrangement.

  • Anglers can be accompanied by 1 non-fishing guest. Any further guests are at the owner/managers discretion.

  • Numbers restricted on both lakes. Please book.

  • Barbless hooks only

  • Every angler must have a suitable landing net

  • Every angler must have a suitable disgorger/unhooking tool and anti-bacterial spray for use where/when necessary.

  • No fishing from hut balconies please.

  • Every angler must have a suitable unhooking mat

  • No keep nets. No bolt rigs

  • No more than 1 hook to be used on any one rod set-up.

  • No spinners/lures/jigs and dead baits to be used between 1st April and 30th September

  • Weigh nets to be used for weighing fish

  • All fish must be returned to the water from which they are caught – except goldfish in bottom lake, please arrange with owners to keep separate (container provided). Do take some home if wanted!

 

                    No braided line of any form to be used. Tackle must not be left unattended.

 

  • Cooking appliances/small BBQs are permitted but must be raised off the ground to avoid leaving burn marks on the bank. There are toilet and cooking/washing facilities in the Fishermen’s Utility room (behind house).

  • Surplus bait must not be thrown into the lake at the end of your session. Please take it home or place in rubbish bins provided.

  • Anglers are responsible for tidying their own area. Please use toilets provided on the site.

  • Coarse fish species in all lakes are for pleasure angling only and at no time shall be killed or kept by any angler. This includes Carp (Mirror,Common, Crucian, Ghost and Grass), Orfe, Tench, Bream, Chub, Roach, Rudd, Gudgeon, and Perch. Anyone found doing so will be banned from the fishery and may be subject to prosecution.

  • The management reserves the right to refuse entry to any persons without explanation. Any angler considered to be breaking fishery rules may be asked to cease fishing and may forfeit any monies paid.

  • No halibut, trout, artificial bait or high oil pellets allowed

 

  •  No boats permitted except by owner. No fires, dogs, bikes or loud radios allowed on the lake banks.

 

  • Cat/dog food can only be used on the hook, not loose fed.

 

  • Vehicles to be parked only in designated parking area. (Exception for disabled by arrangement). Cars parked at owner’s risk. Hastingford Fishery will not accept any responsibility for any injury or loss that is incurred whilst the bearer is on the fishery.

 

  • The management reserve the right to inspect fishing tackle and cars at any time when at or leaving the fishery. Any angler found to be breaking the rules or generally misbehaving will be asked to leave the fishery.

 

  • Please keep toilet/kitchen area clean and tidy.

 

  • PRICES: Day ticket 8am to dusk or 8pm £10; ½ day £5; night fishing £10 residents only except by arrangement. Must book as numbers restricted.
